This spectral feline is believed to haunt the Scottish Highlands. Legend has it that the creature flew down from the heavens to steal peoples souls. It would do this by jumping over the body of the recently deceased and intercepting the soul before it could be claimed by the Gods. 

Because of this they would hold Late Wake Watches to keep the Cat away from the corpse before burial. These rituals would include distraction methods such as catnip, wrestling, riddles, and music. They also discouraged fires during burials as the Cat is attracted to warmth. 

Some people believe the Celestial Cat is actually a witch that can transform to and from its Cat form eight times. On the ninth time the change is permanent.
